The most important thing to check is whether the company does its own fabrication in-house or sub-contracts it to third parties. In-house fabrication means the same organization is responsible for quality at every stage. Ask for their fabrication facility location and whether you can visit it. Ask what steel grade and certification they use — IS-certified steel from a known mill is non-negotiable. Ask to see projects they've completed that are at least 5 to 10 years old and how those buildings are performing. A manufacturer confident in their work will show you this without hesitation. Ask for a clear project timeline before signing anything, not a rough estimate, so you have something to hold them to. And check whether they handle erection with their own trained crew or subcontract that too — subcontracted erection is the point where quality control most often breaks down.
